Berbeda dari dua album terakhir yang cenderung murung dan berat, Play justru ingin membawa warna baru.
“I released two albums that kind of… they were both very depressing about quite hard hitting subjects,” katanya. “I needed to have something that felt bright and colorful and playful.”
